I say it's stereotypical and will alienate people who see it, she says the guy looks 'friendly' and like everyone she grew up with in the U.S. and that it's clearly meant to be humorous. She also says I'm wrong because more media would be writing about it if it WAS offensive. Hmmmm. As much as I hate vegans/vegetarians, etc who proselytize, the scientific data is pretty clear that factory farming is a major cause of global warming, water and soil pollution and many other environmental and health woes. Any message that can encourage people to do research into the negative environmental effects of factory farming is okay by me, and as a moustached Hoosier who occasionally wears plaid shirts I find this depiction of a "typical Indiana male" humurous rather than offensive. Obviously the person who designed this image has been to the Indiana State Fair. Hey, that guy kind of looks like me… and I’m vegan!
