Mixed martial arts shows are popular in Indiana — sometimes for reasons that make state legislators, regulators and professional fighters bristle.

While the state has a boxing commission, there are no standards for staging an MMA show.

The Indiana General Assembly is addressing the issue, but basing standards on the size of the crowd watching an event — which is part of an amendment to a current bill — baffles at least one pro fighter.
